Scout Survivor Training

This year 26th Galway Scouts and Ventures are organising a training day for scout patrols who wish to take part in Survivor (at Delta level).

Aim of the day

This training day is aimed at patrols who wish to take part in survivor at Delta level. Each patrol will be shown and have time to complete the following tasks.

  • Erect a tarp shelter that will sleep 4 people
  • Build a mound fire
  • Collect and grade wood required for a fire
  • Light a fire and keep it alight.
  • Cook a simple meal similar to Delta level survivor

Location: Guinness Tower Cong woods

Parking: Cong Carpark, please allow 20mins to walk to the location of the training

Cost & Booking

€25 per patrol (minimum 4 scouts, max 6 scouts) Each Patrol must be accompanied by a scouter. Bookings and payments can be made HERE. Bookings closes on Monday 23th September. – Max of 10 patrols

Schedule

Check in and gear check open’s from 9:30am-10am

Event starts at 10am and finishes at 5pm

Equipment List

Please can each scout pack as if they will be attending an over night survivor as per the equipment list below, including the equipment for each patrol.

Each scout will also need to bring a pack lunch

Each scout group must bring a first aid kit and activity consent forms.
